Vanessa, a native New Yorker, graduated from Aveda Institute NYC in 2010. Upon graduation, she went to work with Oscar Blandi to work with some of the most inspirational stylists, of whom taught her how to cut and style traditional hair.

After a fantastic year and a half at Oscar Blandi, Vanessa realized that she wanted to go back to her city roots and work for a salon that is well-versed, just like she is. She stumbled upon Takamichi Hair and automatically knew it was a perfect fit. Takamichi took Vanessa under his wing and taught her how to break the rules and take a designers approach to hair.

This is what made Vanessa fit right in at Takamichi Hair, as she now feels that she loves to break the rules, once one has mastered the basics (of course). That being said, Vanessa's favorite quote is 'keep it real.'
